85th Academny Awards Nominees: The Oscars 2013

My three highlights of this special night, the Academy Awards Nominees, Oscars 2013, are, firstly, the great performance carried out by the cast of one of my favourite films Les Miserables:

Anne Hathaway won the Oscar as Actress in a supporting role.
I was amazed by her perfomance in the film Les Miserables and I would like to share with you the song "I dreamed a dream", which she sings with a lot of emotion. In my opinion, she really deserves this award, she was wonderful playing the role of Fantine.

Secondly, I really loved Disney's "Paperman", considered Best Animated Short Film. It is truly lovely, inspiring and really well-done! I didn't expect less from the Disney Studios! Please watch it:

Amanda Seyfried looked gorgeous wearing an Alexander McQueen dress and Roger Vivier pumps. Sandra Bullock was beautiful in an Elie Saab semi-transparent dress, Catherine Zeta-Jones wore a gold dress signed by Zuhair Murad and Stacey Kleiber wore a Naem Khaam gown. Perfection!

Natalie Portman stars in new Miss Dior campaign

Directed by Sofia Coppola and featuring Natalie Portman, the short film for Miss Dior's campaign is fabulous. In my opinion, the style is impeccable, delicate, soft and it communicates perfectly what this fragrance is and means. You can find a lot of interesting information and beautiful pictures, and you can also listen to the interview with Natalie Portman and watch the short film.

The luxury fashion house shared a total of four teasers for its Miss Dior fragrance campaign between February,15 - February 20.2013. We could see the first images of this beautiful campaign on Dior's facebook page and website on 21.02.2013 and since yesterday we can watch the short film!

Natalie Portman wears some of the first Dior Haute Couture designs by Raf Simons exclusively for this new campaign. Raf Simons works as artistic director of Christian Dior Couture since April 2012.

About Raf Simons:
Encouraged by Linda Loppa, head of the fashion department at the Antwerp Royal Academy, he became a meanswear designer and launched his own label (Raf Simons) in 1995, he became creative director of Jil Sander in 2005.

Embroided with a thousand flowers, Raf Simons has created a modern version of the dress created by Christian Dior in 1947. On this year, the first Dior perfume, Miss Dior, was launched. Christian Dior was passionate about gardens and nature, and he showed this passion through his collections.

DIY Blogs

Hello!

As some of you already know, I have been living abroad for almost seventeen months now. It is not the first time I live abroad, as I have travelled frequently since I was fourteen (in order to improve my English, German and French skills) and spent time in different countries. However, it is the first time I have lived abroad longer than two months and it is a great experience so far!

I moved at the beginning of February to a new flat, and that is why I couldn't update the blog so frequently- I am sorry about it! I would like to recommend you some DIY Blogs. I might take some ideas too, my actual room needs a little bit of decoration! And I cannot think of a better way to do so as with "do it yourself" items!

I really like this blog! I personally think the girl who writes it is very talented. She created for example a skirt made with almost four hundred daisies and a newspaper-skirt (see picture above). Amazing!

amfAR New York Gala

Yesterday, 07.01.2013., began the New York Fashion Week. On the previous night the amfAR New York Gala took place. The Foundation for AIDS Research amfAR is one of the world's leading non-profit organizations that supports AIDS research, HIV prevention and treatment education. The purpose of this gala is to honor individuals that contributed to the fight against AIDS. This year the honored people are the foundation's ambassador Janet Jackson, Kenneth Cole and Heidi Klum. Woody Allen, Sarah Jessica Parker, Doutzen Droes, Karlie Kloss and Alexa Chung were some of the guests at restaurant Cipriani Wall Street.
